But that is on the assumption that while the Object ID’s may change, the actual playable file URLs are unlikely to. I tested with two different apps on the phone, to send files to AVR, and two programs on PC, and cover image displayed on TV and in HEOS app in high quality. We do some small trickery to make this work with UPnP ‘albums’, which seems to work ok. Same low quality cover with just folder.jpg in the album folder, and files without image inside. For example, MinimServer, which is one of the most popular server products, can change object identifiers any time new music is added. That’s a reasonably fair assumption, but is not set in stone. This could work, however we’re making an assumption that the ObjectID will not change. So, we could have a link on the Home Screen for “what is inside the folder where ObjectID = ‘albums’”. This would only be the case if 1) folder view is not being used, 2) the tracks of the album are split between different folders, 3) only the folder.jpg approach is used to associate artwork with the albums tracks (i.e., no embedded artwork at all), and 4) the folder.jpg images are different for different tracks.
